Allen, an electronics maintenance chief with the 308th Brigade Support Battalion, 17th Fires Brigade, unscrews a detachable locking bar he modified with his section as a more cost-effective way to repair the AM-7239D vehicular amplifier adapter model at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Aug. 12, 2013. On the right is an unmodified AM-7239D adapter, where the locking bar is fixed to the frame and would normally require a whole new chassis to repair if broken. Allen and members of his section presented their idea to the Suggestion Program which was approved by the Department of the Army, April 2012, as an official way to repair the adapter.
