The Distinguished Warfare Medal has been changed to a Distinguishing Device
after being reviewed by the service secretaries and the Joint Chiefs of
Staff. The device recognizes direct and immediate impact on combat
operations through the use of remotely piloted aircraft and cyber
operations.
