Provincial Reconstruction Teams Transfer Authority, continue mission
The unveiling of the Laghman, Nuristan, Nangarhar and Konar Provincial Reconstruction Teams’ colors symbolized the beginning of a new command over the PRT in the northeastern region of Afghanistan. As each new command picked up where the previous left off, they plan to build upon the foundation laid by their predecessors.

Operation Turkey Drop offers Thanksgiving to Troops
The hearts and minds of many Soldiers are not ruled by an iron fist, but gently guided by what is most important to their families. Out on the battlefield, in areas isolated on mountain tops for months, Soldiers still find time to celebrate the holidays and spend time on the phone with family and friends from a war zone, on a day of giving thanks.

A Soldier patrols the skies over Task Force Duke
There are thousands of Soldiers serving in Afghanistan in the war on terror. These Soldiers perform many different jobs, but each one is important to the overall mission. From the infantry Soldiers patrolling on the ground to the pilots dominating the sky and everything between they are all part of the same team. One of these team members is 19-year-old Pvt. Ryan Masterson from McHenry, Ill., who is an aviation operations specialist for the Air Defense and Airspace Management Cell. Masterson who has been in the Army a little more than two years details some of the daily tasks he performs for the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division’s ADAM Cell.
