CAMP BUEHRING, Kuwait - September has proven to be a very active month for Delta Company 700 FSC as they provide support for the major drawdown of troops leaving Iraq.

The Distribution platoon has been preparing to support the Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise, which the 1/180th Squadron will participate in. Delta has been tasked with the duty as pusher element.

They will be responsible for the transportation of supplies and equipment for deploying troops in the EDRE. The training provided will help prepare the squadron, should the need arise to deploy combat ready soldiers in the multinational area.

Staff Sgt. Davis has stepped into the non-commissioned officer position for DEFAC #3 on Camp Buehring. Davis, along with the cooks, has been running the mess halls and is in charge of supervising operations. They are preparing for a heavy influx in the coming months as troops pass through Buehring on their way out of Iraq.

The maintenance section has successfully completed 3 missions into Iraq in an effort to deliver MAXXPRO Plus vehicles that will be used for security during the drawdown. Along with the convoys, maintenance also conducted technical inspections on 74 MAXXPRO’s and ensured mission readiness for the gaining unit.

The company has also provided personnel to the Redeployment Property Accountability Team currently serving in Iraq. These soldiers are working to locate and inventory equipment that will eventually be shipped out of Iraq and moved to other theaters.

Also, three mechanics have been called to Afghanistan from Delta 700 to provide maintenance support to units in the operating theater. They will remain there until the conclusion of their tour.
