    NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is participating at the 5th Annual Small Business Training Forum at the Tennessee State University Avon Williams Campus March 17, 2016. The event is being sponsored by the Tennessee State University Small Business Development Center and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center at the University of Tennessee.

    The Nashville District’s employees are speaking at the small business forum and available at an information booth for information about upcoming procurement opportunities, resources and extensive information about woman owned business opportunities within the federal, state and local procurement systems.

    The Nashville District Small Business Office chief is also working with the event sponsors to help educate business professionals about available tools and resources, and provided information on how to get assistance with the procurement process. Featured speakers are also set to share their expertise and unique business and engineering perspectives throughout the day.

    “The goal of this event is to educated people and provide a means of networking,” said Roy Rossignol, chief of the Nashville District Small Business Office.

    Rossignol said the event is a great opportunity for the businesses involved to network with each other and for the Corps to build its list of contractors and their capabilities.

    “This year’s focus is ‘Woman Owned Small Businesses’, but all small businesses will benefit ant there will be plenty of networking opportunities,” said Rossignol.

    “We have assembled some great USACE subject matter experts on the Woman Owned Small Business socioeconomic group,” he added.

    Subject matter experts from various professional fields will attend to answer any questions.

    The WOSB program levels the playing field for women-owned companies to compete for and win Federal contracts. A panel discussion is also on the agenda titled “How are current business environment conditions affecting the WOSB community?”
