Lance Cpl. Andrew Campbell, an artilleryman with Echo Battery, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and Gunner Sebastian Wright, an artilleryman with 107 Battery, 4th Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery, set home a high explosive round in support of a combined artillery and close air support training exercise following the conclusion of Talisman Saber 2013 here, Aug. 1. The live-fire exercise provided effective and intense training to ensure Australian and U.S. forces are capable, interoperable, deployable on short notice and combat-ready. The 31st MEU is the Marine Corps' force in readiness for the Asia-Pacific region and the only continuously forward-deployed MEU.
