Lance Cpl. Joshua A. Grothe, Cpl. Brittany King, and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Kaysha Williams, Marines serving with chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense, Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division, ignite chlorobenzylidene malonitrile tablets during annual gas chamber training here, June 12, 2013. The gas creates a burning sensation on the skin because of the crystalline nature of the gas particles. The sharp corners of the particles get caught in the pores, creating a burning sensation and mild discomfort.
