Soldiers from the 272nd Chemical Company prepare a victim of a mock explosion and chemical leak for decontamination at Camp Hartell, June 9, 2013. After decontaminating the patient, soldiers will transfer him to a medical aid station close by. The soldiers of the 272nd, along with other soldiers and airmen of the Massachusetts National Guard are participating in a homeland response force training exercise at Camp Hartell. Today, the soldiers and airmen from the 379th Engineers, the 179th and 180th Fire Detachments, 102nd and 104th Medical groups are conducting rescue and recovery, decontamination and medical operations during this mass casualty event. These units, along with the 79th Troop Command, which provides command and control assets, make up the Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Environmental (CBRNE), Enhanced Response Force Package or CERF-P.
