Marines plant rice May 4 in Wasaku Tatsumichi’s rice paddy at Gotemba, Shizuoka prefecture, Japan. Several Marines assigned to Combined Arms Training Center Camp Fuji, Marine Corps Installations Pacific, rolled up their pant legs and stood ankle-deep in muddy water to plant rice with members of the Fuji U.S.-Japan Friendship Association. The purpose of the event was to reinforce good relations between Marines and members of the neighboring community. (Photo by Cpl. Adam B. Miller)
