Ssang Yong, meaning “Twin Dragons,” represents the U.S. and ROK forces and is intended to strengthen ROK-U.S. combat readiness and joint and combined interoperability through the conduct of joint and combined amphibious operations. The battalion is attached to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force as part of the Marine Corps Unit Deployment Program. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
