The U.S. Army Reserve celebrated it's 105th anniversary with a cake-cutting ceremony at Fort Bragg, N.C., April 23, 2013. Created in 1908 as the Medical Reserve Corps, today's Army Reserve is a key complimentary operational force that supports the entire United States. The Army Reserve consists of more than 200,000 “citizen-soldiers” and approximately 11,900 of those Soldiers are currently deployed around the world, providing life-saving and life-sustaining capabilities for Joint Force operations.
