Gomez, a warehouseman deployed with Headquarters and Service Company, 7th Engineer support Battalion, 22nd Naval Construction Regiment, dons a pair of single-pane protective sunglasses during a laser safety course May 16. The lenses are designed to protect against a single wavelength of laser. The class focused on how to properly use laser weapon systems, specifically laser dazzlers.
