The JTF conducts intelligence collection, analysis and dissemination for the protection of detainees and personnel working in JTF Guantanamo facilities and in support of the War on Terror. JTF Guantanamo provides support to the Office of Military Commissions, to law enforcement and to war crimes investigations. The JTF conducts planning for and, on order, responds to Caribbean mass migration operations.
  • Sgt. Dionquai Coleman, senior contracting officer with Regional Contracting Center-Afghanistan, speaks to 17 Lashkar Gah contractors at the Helmand Police Training Center, Dec. 1. Coleman covered how to properly bid on U.S. construction projects. The contractors, all from the Lashkar Gah area, will bid on three separate contracts to construct new buildings and enhance training areas at the HPTC. The bids are due within the next two weeks and once the bids have been awarded the contractors will have 10 days to begin work, which could be as early as Jan. 1, 2011.
