Boatswain's Mate Seaman Recruit Abbie Applegate, assigned to USS Constitution, helps Elizabeth Frost, member of Naval Historical Heritage Command Detachment Boston, sew a patch into Constitution's main top sail during winter maintenance. Constitution is the world's oldest commissioned warship afloat. She defended the sea lanes against threat from 1797 to 1855, much like the mission of today's Navy.
