A plaque honoring the life and service of BM1 Edgar Culbertson is adorned with lily flowers during a memorial service on the 42nd anniversary of his death during a rescue attempt on this same pier.  There are also three iris flowers, one for each of the three brothers lost along with BM1 Culbertson, who was posthumously awarded the Coast Guard Medal for his heroism.

Jeannette is conducting an assessment of medical conditions at the facility.
  • U.S. Navy Lt. Edward H. Erwin, the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment chaplain, gives an early Easter service to Marines here April 4, 2012. Erwin traveled to different outposts and patrol bases around Helmand province's Marjah district to offer Easter services to those who wouldn't be near a chapel on Easter Sunday.

Meixner assisted CATT on this mission because only women were allowed into the areas of the facility with the female inmates.
