U.S Air Force Airman First Class Thomas Hammock, an assistant dedicated crew chief with the 718th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Kadena Air Base, Japan, conducts pre-flight operations on an E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System aircraft assigned to the 961st Airborne Air Control Squadron, also based at Kadena, at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, during RED FLAG-Alaska, May 1, 2024. In addition to aircrew, RED FLAG-Alaska provides training for deployed maintenance and support personnel in sustainment of large-force deployed air operations.
