Airmen assigned to the 820th Base Defense Group in Georgia load into an HC-130J Combat King II aircraft to conduct static line jump training over southern Georgia on April 25, 2024. Static line parachuting is a method in which a cord is attached to the aircraft at one end and the other attaches to the top of the parachute deployment bag. As the individual exits the aircraft, the static line is drawn taut, and the deployment bag is pulled from the container. The deployment bag remains attached to the static line, and the parachute, extracted from the deployment bag inflates as the jumper continues to fall. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Tiffany A.
