U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team 1/1, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, prepare to transport a simulated casualty during a casualty evacuation training at Combined Arms Training Center Camp Fuji, Japan, April 2, 2024. The purpose of the training was to showcase the interoperability between U.S. military forces and Japanese first responders supporting training at CATC Fuji. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
