Retired Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Harold Dean, who served for 30 years and is a native of Pittsburg, Pa., gives a round of high fives and applause to those nearing the end of The Great Yuma Road Race, a 5K/10K fun run promoted by the city of Yuma's Parks & Recreation Department in conjunction with the Yuma Jaycees Silver Spur Rodeo parade, Jan. 2. "It helps us get along with the community," said Dean. "You'd be surprised how many people we have working for Parks & Rec. are retired military personnel."
