UNC-W softball team overcomes obstacles with support of Falcon paratroopers

Jordan Schmidt, left, and Megan McCann, right, members of the University of North Carolina - Wilmington softball team, work together to negotiate an obstacle on the leaders reaction course on Fort Bragg, N.C., Jan. 8. Paratroopers assigned to 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, oversaw the use of the obstacle course to explain the requirements of each station and ensure the course was completed safely. The event was a team-building exercise for the players to promote communication and trust. Schmidt is a pitcher/outfielder and native of Austin, Texas, and McCann is an outfielder and native of Omaha, Neb. Both are sophomores.
