The figurehead on the “Chesty Pullers” dragon boat stares forward as the Marines who make up the team push it into the Neuse River for a boat race at Oriental, N.C. Immediately following the first race, the second trio of boats was in the water heading to the starting line. The races were fast paced, one group following the other.
