Sergeant Sigilfredo C. Garcia (right), armory chief, Command Element, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, stands at the position of attention in front of Col. Scott D. Campbell, commanding officer, 15th MEU, after receiving a Certificate of Commendation, during an awards and promotions ceremony held in the hangar bay of the USS Peleliu, Jan. 1. Garcia received the award for being selected as the Command Element's Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter. The 15th MEU is deployed as part of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group as a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force, providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
