Soldiers with 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, begin the combined forces attack lane training event during Rhodope 23 on Sep. 12, 2023, near Smolyan, Bulgaria. The attack lane consisted of patrolling, conducting reconnaissance and executing a raid on a strategic point with members of the Bulgarian Land Forces 101st Alpine Regiment. The continuous training and support to multinational exercises such as Rhodope 23 provides the ability to rapidly surge combat-ready forces across theater to support the NATO alliance and project forces.
