A landing craft, air cushion (LCAC) assigned Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 5, transports Marines assigned to 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) from amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23) to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, June 4, 2023. LCACs transport ship-to-shore personnel, weapons, equipment, and cargo during Marine operations. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks Anchorage and USS John P.
