Col. Stephen Sklenka, left, the commanding officer for Combat Logistics Regiment-15, hands a piece of birthday cake to Maj. Michael Nolan, center, the oldest Marine present during CLR-15’s cake cutting ceremony on Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, Nov. 10. The piece of cake was then given to Lance Cpl. Jorden Sexton, the youngest Marine present, signifying the passing of knowledge and tradition from young to old. Nolan, the CLR-15 Logistics Readiness Center officer-in-charge, was born Sept. 2, 1964, and enlisted in the Marine Corps March 26, 1987. Sexton, a motor vehicle mechanic with Combat Logistics Company 153, was born April 28, 1993, and enlisted in the Marine Corps June 20, 2011.
