Marines are transported by French helicopters during a helicopter raid as part of Exercise Croix du Sud in Kumac, New Caledonia, Oct. 24. After being dropped in the landing zone, the Marines secured an enemy compound as part of Croix du Sud’s culminating field training exericise. The Marines are with 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment which is currently attached to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
