Sgt. Jarrod Stegall (right), petroleum laboratory specialist, 505th Quartermaster Battalion, watch as his soldiers navigate aboard a fuel tanker to sample fuel for distribution on Okinawa. The 505th operates and maintains a massive 100-mile steel underground petroleum pipeline system on Okinawa. The goal for the battalion is to receive, test, store and issue fuels that are essential to the pacific Command. The unit is a direct fuel supplier of aviation, diesel and automotive fuel to PACOM units.
