Specialist Sheila Borromeo fights to gain control of an attacker Oct. 17 during Modern Army Combatives training hosted by the 593rd Sustainment on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., as part of a certification class for the first level of combatives. The 593rd combatives program just went brigade-wide this summer and even offers instruction to other units across the installation.
