    The World War II Memorial frames the Washington Monument, centered along the National Mall the day after the 56th Presidential Inauguration Ceremony, Washington, D.C., as attendee’s visit many of the national memorials on Jan. 21, 2009. According to the National Park Service, 1.8 million people attended the 56th Presidential Inauguration, with frigid afternoon temperature of 28 degrees Fahrenheit and wind chills in the mid-teens. Nearly 9,300 National Guard troops joined thousands of service members from all components provided security and operational supporting the 56th Presidential Inauguration.
