Sailors and Marines man the rails of the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island as the ship passes Alcatraz Island at the end of San Francisco Fleet Week 2012. San Francisco Fleet Week was held Oct. 3-8 and brought more than 2,500 sailors, Marines and Coast guardsmen from four ships to San Francisco to highlight the personnel, technology and capabilities of the sea services.
