Pfc. Ryan Golden, unmanned aircraft systems repairer, Company A, 2nd Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, checks the pulley on the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle launched during a preflight inspection at Camp Red Devil, Oct. 4, 2012. Performing the preflight systems checks is essential to a successful launch. There are many pieces working simultaneously and if any of those pieces are not properly performing the UAV won't launch and could be damaged.
