Marines and Sailors from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit help the crew of the USS Bonhomme Richard in conducting a Replenishment At Sea operation by supplying a 100-man working party here, September 4. Over 260 pallets of food an supplies were transferred by using FA-330J Puma Helicopters while simultaneously pumping over 800,000 gallons of fuel into the BHR. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU and is the Marine Corps' force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
