Spc. Ryan Mancine and Pvt. Keith Minie, of the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, finish refueling an AH-64 Apache helicopter at the Port of Wilmington, Oct. 1. More than 30 82nd CAB helicopters are being reassembled at the Port of Wilmington to fly back to Fort Bragg after arriving from Afghanistan, Sept. 27. An integral part of the 82nd CAB’s success, the aircraft, including AH-64 Apache, CH-47 Chinook and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, belong to the brigade’s fleet of helicopters that were flown in eastern Afghanistan during the brigade’s year-long deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from Sept. 2011 – Sept. 2012. The 82nd CAB brought three fuel trucks and six soldiers to help refuel the helicopters before they are flown home.
