Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Gary Roughead meets with Chief Hospital Corpsman John Platner and Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Sean Smith while visiting with sailors aboard the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62 ) while visiting with senior naval leadership of China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy in Qingdao, China. Roughead visited China to participate in the 60th anniversary of the founding of the PLA Navy and to foster naval and military relationships between the two nations and explore areas for enhanced cooperation.
