Montford Point Marines receive recognition

First Sergeant Arthur Hernandez, presents Mont- ford Point Marine Sgt. William L. Land the Con- gressional Gold Medal, Sept. 16, in Victorville, Calif. Land served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1943-1946. During his time in the Corps, Land participated in the Island Hopping Campaign in the Pacific during World War II.
