Hooked up to a computer with a built-in heart monitor, Master Sgt. Michael Minor (center), the training noncommissioned officer for the 308th Brigade Support Battalion, 17th Fires Brigade, focuses on controlling his breathing and heart rate, Sept. 13, during a five-day course by the Comprehensive Soldier Fitness-Performance and Resilience Enhancement Program on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., that seeks to enhance leaders through mental skill sets. The course, which CSF-PREP tried out for the first time this month, is intended to help sergeants and officers gain self-awareness to better understand how to assist and motivate their soldiers.
