Master Sgt. Syozo Goto, right, and Lance Cpl. Andre J. Flores fire the M240B medium machine gun at the Hijudai Maneuver Area, Oita prefecture, Japan Aug. 24 during Exercise Forest Light 12-01. The bilateral exercise provided the service members the ability to work together under stress with live-fire while performing light-infantry tactics. Goto is an infantryman with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. Flores is a machine gunner with the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
