Sgt. Matthew Howard, the National Guard's Best Noncommissioned Officer of the Year, views an exhibit of the Army National Guard's history at the National Guard Museum in Washington, D.C. This tour was a part of a week-long tour of the nation's capital in recognition of the winners of the 2012 Best Warrior Competition. Alongside Howard, 1st Lt. Nicholas Plocar, a member of one of the highest qualifying Ranger teams in the National Guard, Sgt. Mark Fuggiti, the Best Soldier of the Year and Sgt. 1st Class Craig Wester, Best Recruiter of the Year were also commended during the 2012 Outstanding Soldiers of the Year. Throughout the week, the Soldiers will meet with enlisted and commissioned leadership to be honored for their accomplishments. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
