    Lance Cpl. Matthew C. Young patrols with his squad during improvised explosive device observation and detection training as part of Exercise Khaan Quest 2012 at the Mongolian Armed Forces Peace Support Operations Training Center in the Five Hills Training Area near Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Aug. 16. Khaan Quest is a regularly scheduled, multinational exercise sponsored by U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) and hosted annually by the Mongolian Armed Forces. Khaan Quest 12 is the latest in a continuing series of exercises designed to promote regional peace and security. Young is a rifleman with 1st Platoon, Company E, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
