Wendy Johnson's new rank on her uniform during her promotion ceremony Jan. 5, 2021, at the Nebraska National Guard's Joint Force Headquarters. Johnson is the first female general officer in the Nebraska National Guard to pin on a second star. The pinning-on portion of the ceremony is a tradition which highlights the significance of the first time a higher rank is placed on the member's uniform.
