U.S. Army soldiers, airmen and Marines, as well as members of the Botswana Defense Force, race to the finish line at Thebephatshwa Air Base in the Republic of Botswana, Aug. 12. The relay race was the first event of the Southern Accord 2012 Olympics. SA12 is a joint, combined exercise bringing together U.S. military forces and BDF to enhance military capabilities and interoperability through humanitarian assistance, peacekeeping operations, and aeromedical evacuation.
