During battle assembly at the 316th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) HQ in Pittsburgh, Pa. during September, a cross functional team consisting of Soldiers from various sections in the unit headquarters successfully exercised its Early Entry Command Post concept. The exercise enabled the staff to validate equipment and personnel requirements that help the ESC establish initial operating capabilities in an austere environment. At the beginning of a contingency operation, the ESC will rapidly deploy on short notice and provide logistics support for the military.
