The guided missile cruiser USS Hue City (CG 66), top, the Italian navy destroyer MM Luigi Durand De La Penne (D 560), right, and the guided missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99) perform a break away maneuver during a passing exercise in the Ionian Sea July 10, 2012. The passing exercise was meant to increase interoperability between the U.S. and Italian navies. Hue City and Farragut were assigned to the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group and were deployed to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility conducting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
