An E-2C Hawkeye from Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 117 launches in concert with an F/A-18F Super Hornet of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 154 from the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Nimitz is underway conducting carrier qualifications in preparation for Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2012, the world's largest international maritime exercise.
