    U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Armando A. Daviu was presented the Meritorious Service Medal by Col. Christopher McCarthy, commanding officer of Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group during a ceremony at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek - Fort Story, Va., Jan. 13, 2012. Capt. Daviu is currently serving as a foreign area officer at MCSCG. The award is normally reserved for field grade officers and above but Daviu's efforts while serving as a Latin American desk officer were above those expected from someone in his current rank.
