Henelor Bell, mayor of Hayneville, Ala., and Col. Jerry Arends, Innovative Readiness Training Mission Director for Alabama Care 2012, listen in as Robert Bentley, governor of Alabama, speaks to Hayneville residents on April 30 about the military deploying to Alabama for innovative readiness training and providing free health care to the citizens of the Black Belt region. The innovative readiness training mission Alabama Care 2012 is an Air National Guard led, multiservice mission comprised of Active, Reserve, and National Guard members from Army, Air Force, and Navy components. The primarily focus is on readiness training as well as assisting Alabama residents with free health services such as dental, optometry, and medical screenings from May 1 through May 10 in the medically underserved and economically depressed communities of Selma, Demopolis and Hayneville.
