First Lt. Melissa Valken, the first female to cross the finish line during the 5K race celebrating the Army Reserve's 104th Birthday, finished the race in just under 18 minutes April 23, Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan. Valken, from Lake Orion, Mich., serves with the 310th Task Force as the battery executive officer.
