    Armed Forces of the Philippines Army Pfc. Herman Nirirod, 51st Engineer Brigade and United States Army Pfc. Melissa Braasch, 1st platoon, 643rd Engineer Company, 84th Engineer Battalion, shovel cement into buckets at an engineering civic assistance project at the Inagawan National High School, Inagawan, Palawan, Republic of the Philippines, April 3, 2012. Philippine and U.S. military members are constructing a new building at the school during Exercise Balikatan 2012, an annual bilateral training exercise aimed at improving Republic of the Philippines and U.S. military force interoperability during planning, combat readiness, and humanitarian assistance operations. This project is one of five ENCAPs the island of Palawan will receive during the exercise in addition to medical and veterinary civic assistance.
