U.S. soldiers assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team learn to use solar panels and generators during a training rotation at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Hohenfels, Germany, March 6, 2012. The U.S. Army's 173rd ABCT, Europe's rapid-reaction force, was conducting a mission rehearsal exercise at the JMRC in preparation for a deployment to Afghanistan. The exercise was designed to develop combat skills, counterinsurgency tactics and the multinational partnerships between the military forces of the United States, Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.
