Officer Selection Station Lexington Marine officer candidate Courtney Freeman receives a scholarship during the 8th Annual Covington-Hagan Scholarship Banquet from Chapter 22 of the Montford Point Marine Association. Chief of Marine Corps Staff Lt. Gen. Willie Williams was the keynote speaker and guest of honor for the event. In addition to the Marine officer candidate presentations, three scholarships were presented to African-American high school students in the Louisville area that are attending college this fall. Freeman is from Atlanta and is a member of "U of the C's" wrestling and track teams.
